A trip out this afternoon with Lion Andy Best and our wives (who were camera shy) to present some cheques. Firstly to Acorns to present a cheque from the proceeds of our book sale and then on to Snoezelen to give them a cheque to pay for the food for their BBQ in July. We get to cook the food too which is great fun! Finally to Wildgoose to give them a cheque from our book sale proceeds which will help to fit out the new arts and crafts building. Naturally we had to pop into Bonnies cafe next door afterwards for coffee and a cake.

Our Monthly Sale in February was in aid of the Mayor's Charities and we were delighted to be joined by Mayor Councillor George Duffy along with Droitwich CVS and the Droitwich Arts Network. £414 was raised for George's charities which was a great result
We are now proud to be one of the sponsors of Worcester Youth Darts and we presented them with a cheque for £40 at their match against Staffordshire youth on Sunday January 22nd at Droitwich Working Mens Club where they play all their home matches.
With perfect timing our district Governor Lion Ravinder Sandhu chose to make his official visit to the club this evening. This meant he was able to induct our newest Lion Mark. So thanks Lion Ravinder and welcome Lion Mark

Afternoon Tea 24th September 2022

Charter and Quiz night
20th July 2022
A great night and we were well looks after by everyone at Gaudet Luce golf club
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Lion Brian Eland on Friday June 17th after a long illness.

Lion Brian was the epitome of what Lions is all about. He was a warm and caring person who gave freely of his time to help others. He was a supporter of Acorns and with his wife Jean was an active collector in all weathers, often at Strensham Services with bucket in hand.

He was also a passionate supporter of Worcester Snoezelen where he was simply known by everyone as Lion Brian.

Droitwich Lions are twinned with Hikkaduwa Lions in Sri Lanka and Brian visited them with his daughter Jane after the Tsunami which wreaked such havoc in that country and Brian was key in the fundraising efforts to help rebuild a community centre that had originally been funded by Lions from several countries. He also liaised with the Hikkaduwa club to obtain sponsors for children who were in extreme poverty to pay for their education. A number of those children have gone on to University and become doctors which would not have been possible without sponsors.

Brian was an enthusiastic Santa, in the grotto and on the sleigh. He was ideally suited to the role being aloving father, grandfather and great-grandfather he knew how to talk to children.

He was also a wonderful friend. A former police officer with a fund of stories about his many years in the Police service and someone who was always be there to help anyone.

But almost more than anything I will remember his smile. He had a wonderful smile that reached his eyes and made them sparkle with mischief.

We will miss him very much.
Keith Tomes from Blackpole is the lucky winner of the Lions Easter egg at the Old Cock Inn .
He and his wife are planning to donate the egg to the foodbank in Worcester
The egg raised £120

Sunday 29th August is a chance to see and have a go on the famous (infamous?) Lions Human Fruit Machine. We will be in Friar Street from 12.00am to 4.00pm. So please come and support the music and food event being run by the Old Cock, Talbot and Hop pole. Should be a lot of fun!
August 2021
We had great fun flipping burgers for the Worcester Snoezelen BBQ. We have been supporters of this great organisation for many years now.
How many of these have we thrown in the bin over the years? Well now they can be recycled at Superdrug. The nearest one is in Worcester but if you can't go there then you can drop any you have off at our monthly book sale.We are at the Baptist Church on the first Saturday of the month. One of our members works in Worcester and will be happy to drop them off.
We were delighted to welcome a new member to the club at our meeting on July 8th. Dave Cryer has been actively helping the club throughout the pandemic and this was the first time we had met face to face as a club in over a year so it was our chance to formally make him a member.
We also had the opportunity for Lion President Carole  to present Lion Phil Wallis with his 30 year service award.
